Review update - 5 Stars

If I have been impressed with a business I do take the time to write a review but only the one.
I am so impressed with the consistently high level of service I have received from Nash & Co that I am now submitting my third review!
Over the years I have used Nash & Co for Wills, probate, selling a house, buying a house, selling my shares in a business and most recently, inheritance.
In particular, I would highly recommend David Cornelius and Amy Douch. Their professionalism, knowledge, skill, interest, friendliness plus availability is outstanding. At no time have I felt hurried and I have always felt confident to ask for clarification when things were not clear to me.
As I previously wrote, this is my third review and I have taken time to write it because I wanted to highlight the consistently high standard of service - thank you David and Amy.
When I use Nash & Co I am confident that my matter is in the best (and safe) hands. (I am not related to any member of staff!)

Help with family Trust following demise of McClures (Glasgow)

5

Absolutely first class advice and guidance on family trust and title deed of house. This follows the failure of McClures solicitors in 2021, leaving thousands of McClures clients in distress. Excellent and speedy service at a really reasonable fee. (I know this as I have spent considerable time researching service and costs from other solicitors, before choosing Nash & Co.).

Family Protection Trust

5

After a serious fall where I realised my mother would need some care for the foreseeable future, I took a look at documents relating to a Family Trust both my parents set up a number of years prior. After making some further enquiries, I was shocked to find that that McClures the solicitors they had used to create this Trust had gone into administration some years prior. Not knowing how my mother stood legally
( sadly dad no longer with us), I began to complete some research and came across Amy Douch at Nash& Co,who had clearly helped another client in the same position some time earlier. Having contacted Amy and after discussing our predicament, she emailed me a clear outline of what needed doing and the associated costs. She also kindly guided us to what parts of the process we might complete ourselves to minimise costs. We are now nearing the end of the process. I have had my faith restored in solicitors. Amy has answered all of our questions promptly, kept us fully informed as the process took place, and has completed the task promptly and professionally. I would certainly use Amy again and recommend her to anyone who finds themself in this ghastly predicament.
Thank you Amy!

Sorting Out a Family Protection Trust

5

We contacted Nash & Co after seeing an internet post by Amy Douch re helping clients of McClures who had gone into administration in 2021 leaving thousands of clients with Family Protection Trusts not knowing what to do next or where they stood legally. Amy was brilliant and summarised our phone call in a letter mapping out options and attendant costs so that we were able to make sensible and informed decisions about what to do next. She outlined those things that we could do ourselves both to save money and ensure that her professional input was used for the right activities. We ahave completed the first stage of this process but have every confidence that the following stages will be approached as efficiently and promptly as the first.

Thank you so much John, for such a fantastic review. We are so sorry that you found yourselves in the position that you did with McClure Solicitors. It's such a horrible mess for everyone who have found themselves in similar positions. Amy and the team are over the moon with your comments and feedback, and we're so pleased that you're happy with everything that Amy's done for you and the client service standards too. We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us the comments, and hope that you find yourselves in a much better position with a much brighter future ahead. Thank you again, all the very best

Amy was extremely thorough and professional, right from the start. She made sure that we understood everything that was going into our Wills. There was never a time that we didn't feel in very professional and caring hands. We would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her.

Professional service

5

Very swift and professional service. Amy Douch was excellent and always on hand to provide advice. New Wills for my wife and I, in a few very short weeks compared to two months previously with another firm. If you want a fast and professional service, consider using this firm. The service really was first rate and would use them again without any hesitation.

For background, my parents a number of years back my parents were sold 'Family Protection Trusts' by a company called Golden Charter (With what we have learned since, we consider these trusts were mis sold). Golden Charter in turn utilised a firm called McClures solicitors to complete the legal aspects of the trusts. McClures went into administration and the trust files were passed (4 years before my parents were informed) to Jones Whyte Law Ltd. In January this year (2025) Jones Whyte sold my parents 'Initial reviews' to identify what needed to be done to address any deficiencies with the trusts. Some research suggested that engagement with Jones Whyte could be problematic (and indeed our short experience with them evidenced this). As such we needed a solicitor who could give clear advice and take appropriate action to address the issues with my parents trusts. We heard of other peoples good experience with Nash and Co solicitors through a super Facebook group (Victims of McClures Solicitors) and contacted them for initial advice. Our point of contact has been Amy Douch, who has been professional, efficient, approachable and knowledgeable throughout. Amy's initial (and in contrast to Jones Whyte) free advice clearly set out what was likely to be needed to either set right or bring to an end the trusts. My parents elected for the latter. Amy provided a clearly costed step by step process to achieve this. Notably she included advice on steps that could potentially be undertaken by ourselves to reduce cost (eg registration of the trusts with HMRC). As regards cost, Nash and Co's prices were entirely competitive with others and we paid what was quoted. There were no extra charges overlain and Amy has provided several snippets of advice along the way. After an initial phone meeting to discus the options, all of our contact has been by email, and this has worked brilliantly. Amy has responded quickly to our many questions along the way and has provided clarity where sought (eg explaining legal terms). Do not be put off using Nash because they are not local to you. We are in West Wales and that has certainly not been a barrier. Most importantly for our particular circumstances, Amy's particular knowledge in respect of Trusts, and in particular the McClures situation, has resulted in my parents instructions being carried out with great expediency. For example Amy was aware of circumstances associated with one of the former McClures Trustees and also of an agreement made by the 'Victims of McClures' group with HM Land Registry to expedite Title Registration changes. The whole process to, remove the McClure solicitors as trustees, bring the trusts to close and remove the McClure solicitors from the Land Title has taken under 4 months. You will not have to read far on the internet to find examples of people for whom this process has taken years. Certainly, based on our experience and circumstance, we would highly recommend Nash and Co solicitors, and in particular Amy Douch. We hope this helps anyone out there facing similar circumstance

Robin, we're so so sorry that we had to meet in the situation that we did. You and your parents went through hell with everything connected to McClure, and you're one in a very long line of people who have been treated just horribly. We really do appreciate that you came to us to help you in your situation and are absolutely over the moon with your comments about the service you received and the work that Amy did for you. Amy is brilliant and has helped so many clients who have been through awful situations with McClure. It's heartbreaking to hear what people have been though. We can only thank you for your review, and for telling people how happy you are with everything that Amy did for you and the speed she got you and your parents to a resolution that you're happy with. It means the world to us.

Excellent service from start to finish from Amy at Nash & Co. We needed a solicitor to sort out my mum’s will and trust following some issues with a previous solicitor.
The whole process was very smooth with excellent communication.
I would highly recommend!

We're over the moon that you were happy with the work that Amy did for you with the Will and Trust. That's such a horrible situation for everyone who has fallen victim to what they have done. Amy Douch has just completed dissolution of our Family Protection Trusts which were originally established by McClure Solicitors. Amy's knowledge, professionalism and all round good work has brought this sorry episode to a very satisfactory conclusion. Without her help, we would still be floundering and we cannot praise her highly enough for all her efforts. If anybody out there is having difficulty in dealing with the disaster which is/was McClures do not hesitate to contact Amy Douch, Nash & Co.Solicitors who should be able to establish a very satisfactory conclusion to your problems.

Dear Valerie and Philip We are so sorry that we had to meet in the circumstances that we did, but we're over the moon that Amy was able to help you, and bring everything to a close for you. The scale of the problems left behind by McClures is truly horrific, and we just want to help as many people out of their situations as possible. It's very sad indeed. Thank you so much for coming to us, for the 5* review, the very kind comments about Amy, and especially the recommendation - that truly means the world to us. We really appreciate your kindness and time.

Extremely impressed with Nash & Co. I was only visiting Plymouth for the week but enquired about a service which I was struggling to find back home. I was seen the same day and everyone involved were extremely helpful and professional. Amy was very friendly and understood the issue I had with the Land Registry and sorted it no problem. Fee's were also very very competitive compared to everywhere I'd enquired prior to this. Highly recommend this company.

I recently used Nash & Co. for advice on and drafting documentation to resolve some complex trust law and inheritance tax issues. David Cornelius and Amy Douch were good communicators and gave excellent advice - and after careers in both accountancy and the law I know the difference between good and bad in this field! They gave reasonable fixed fee quotes and completed the work promptly. I would definitely use them again.

I also used Nash & Co.'s conveyancing team for the sale of a residential property owned by the family trust. Conveyancing is a bit of a commodity product and it is difficult to differentiate between firms. The team of Amy Paterson, James Kerswill and Amanda Pickman stand out for their prompt, clear advice and speedy turnaround of documents and enquiries. If one member was away from the office another could, and did, pick up the file and do whatever was needed to prevent the sale from stalling. This was clearly not happening with the solicitors used by the purchaser. Nash & Co. were not the cheapest quote I obtained for the sale but given their performance I would say their fee was good value.

John, thank you so much for the review, the fantastic comments and the ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!! The teams will both be delighted to hear your comments and we really appreciate you taking the time to leave us a 5* combined review. This will no doubt give anyone reading your review a really good background to how we work here at Nash. Our teams will always go above and beyond for our clients, and one thing that we really pride ourselves on is the speed and the communication that we give clients. You should never have to chase us. We aim to provide a very thorough and efficient service, for a reasonable fee. I'm really glad that it sounds like this is the service that you received. We'd never want to be the cheapest quote, as we find with law, you often get what you pay for. We want to give the very best service that we can, for fair and reasonable fee. It's so good to hear that you were happy with everything that the teams did for you, and that the individuals you named did a really good job. Again, we really appreciate you leaving such positive feedback and comments. This kind of review means the world to us as a firm and to the individuals you named. Thank you.
