From start to finish Lydia was excellent keeping us updated at all stages. It was a very stressful time but Lydia eased much of the stress with how efficiently she dealt with our case.

Lydia Wawiye is a Senior Associate Solicitor in our Litigation Department. Lydia has a lot of experience working with individuals and corporate clients, her areas of expertise are in civil and commercial disputes, construction claims, debt recovery, professional negligence claims, probate disputes and contract disputes. Lydia looks to find the most quick and efficient resolution to every manner of dispute, quickly assessing the situation and providing options and recommendations in order to resolve the problem and achieve the client’s requirements and fulfil their expectations. One of Lydia’s first questions to any new client is what they hope to get out of the dispute. Given the nature of litigation, this can range from damage limitation to receipt of a large financial payment. For clients who have not previously been involved in litigation, this can be a stressful and distressing process. Lydia works hard to help her clients understand the likely outcomes to ensure that they have a realistic view of their case. Lydia has previously worked in a well respected South London firm joining Stephen Rimmer LLP in 2016. Outside of work Lydia enjoys spending time with her young family, reading, travelling and socialising with family and friends.

Capability Review
I had been working for my employer for almost 12 years and was put forward for a capability assessment when I felt as though the management were pushing me out. I was made ill, miscarried and unable to go forward with the process. I then took the steps of reaching out to HR asking 'without prejudice' what my other options would be and Lydia helped summarise my options and helped me with negotiating a redundancy package for me to leave without further stress. She was able to clearly explain what steps could be taken in my situation and communicated with the employer on my behalf. She gave me reassurance, was friendly and kind and very knowledgeable at a very distressing time in my life.
