With over 20 years in the education sector, Emma offers a wealth of experience to her clients. Emma is well versed in supporting schools to convert to academy status and with MAT expansions, having been involved in the earliest sponsor academies for Church of England Diocese. Emma regularly advises schools and colleges in respect of their commercial contracts, including Hire Facilities agreements, to ensure that her clients are robustly protected. Emma supports schools through the full range of pastoral issues, providing advice and support in relation to admissions, behaviour incidents, safeguarding, SEND and parent complaints. She has successfully challenged the decisions of exam boards and Ofsted. Emma also defended a school in judicial review proceedings to ensure the opening of its sixth form. Emma can support your school with external governance audits. She regularly speaks at conferences and provides bespoke training to her clients on topics such as challenging EHCP placements, parental complaints and good governance.
