Jonathan Goldring was called to the bar in 1997. Having previously practised in both chambers and as a director/shareholder in a London law firm. Jonathan is co-owner of Cura Law Ltd and heads up the advocacy team. He is a dual-capacity practitioner which also allows him to work an independent barrister. Jonathan is regulated by the Bar Standards Board and is authorised to conduct litigation. As a specialist fitness to practise lawyer Jonathan defends both primary and secondary healthcare professionals appearing before fitness to practise and conduct committees. He has also sat as a legal assessor advising Committees at the General Osteopathic Council. Jonathan undertakes a wide range of professional disciplinary work before The General Chiropractic Council (GCC), The General Medical Council (GMC), The General Dental Council (GDC), The General Osteopathic Council (GOsC), The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC), The United Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and also represents professionals at Coroner’s inquests. Jonathan also has an established background in criminal law as leading counsel in serious crime and fraud. He has appeared in some of the most high profile criminal cases and has experience in representing healthcare professionals charged with criminal offences. He recently secured a rape acquittal for a personal trainer and serious fraud acquittal for a dentist. Jonathan is frequently instructed to advise on appeal against the decisions of Professional Conduct, Conduct and Competence and Fitness to Practice Committees. He has also successfully conducted appeal cases at the Administrative Court and Court of Appeal. In his spare time Jonathan is a devoted family man, a keen musician, fly-fisherman, skier and also enjoys motorbikes. Jonathan Goldring has featured in both Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 recommendations.
