Sarah Bright
Licensed Conveyancer
Sarah started her conveyancing career in 1999 at a large Bradford firm as an input agent. She then moved to a large Leeds firm to work in their remortgage department, but quickly realised her skills were better suited to sales and purchases. She was later offered the opportunity to work for a small firm, still Leeds based, and developed a knowledge for different types of conveyancing matters, eg transfers of part, new builds and transfer of equity, before deciding to qualify through the CLC route. Sarah started her CLC qualification in 2008, via distance learning, passing the first two modules, before continuing in 2009 at Bradford College, finally qualifying in 2012. After the birth of her second child, Sarah took a job closer to home, helping her to develop good working relationships with local agents and solicitors, which in turn helps with achieving the end goal of completion for the clients. Having recently joined Walker Foster, Sarah is really looking forward to using her strong local knowledge as well as the relationships she has built with clients over the years. When not at work, Sarah loves nothing more than spending time with her young children, cooking and the great outdoors. She is a keen runner, being part of the Wharfedale running club and has completed two marathons.

All good except AML requirements feeling OTT. Sarah and the team was very prompt to respond to questions. My review of Sarah personally is overwhelming positive as she managed the case well and was prompt.
I can’t give an honest review without mentioning issues around AML and personal data concerns. I’d have liked these to be expectations to be managed earlier especially with the sheer amount of personal data I was asked & expected to provide (more than 5 years worth of bank statements in my case!). So be aware that if use Walker Foster they will need to see every single transaction!
The firm should also invest in new technology and not rely solely on email. The ICO state that email is not a secure method of information sharing however WF don’t seem to take this approach and expect email to be the main method of communication including when sending large amounts of personal data. I did complain about this however WF seemed very indifferent and their complaints handling seems very indifferent.
I continue to have significant concerns regarding personal data however had no other real option if I wanted to proceed with the purchase. Im raising a compliant with the ICO given the relaxed approach WF have as feel clients are put at risk.
Please not that this part of the review is not aimed at Sarah personally but rather at the firm. I do believe that work is needed to improve this process and protect client data.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding our AML and personal data collection for the purposes of your house purchase. We take feedback like yours seriously, as it helps us ensure our practices remain transparent, respectful, and aligned with client expectations. We understand that data privacy is a critical issue, and we want to assure you that our approach to data collection is guided by strict compliance with relevant regulations, including GDPR and the AML Regulations, and by our commitment to ethical standards. The data we collect is used solely for the transaction to which it relates and it is held securely in our system. That said, we are always open to reviewing and refining our practices and we are already looking to modernise our practice management system to offer more options to our clients. On this basis, I hope we have the opportunity to work with you again in the future.

Thank you Sarah & Well Done
I can recommend Sarah and her staff for a very professional caring quick job done. A job, that at times, needs patience. With her client being first.

Best solicitors I’ve ever used!
Having had Walker Foster recommended by an estate agent I’ve used them for a sale with another agent having had my original purchase fall through.
Sarah and her team / colleagues were helpful, informative, efficient and no-nonsense in the best way for both houses.
They say moving homes is stressful but I’d disagreed if you’re using Walker Foster and you’re assigned Sarah.
Thank you wholeheartedly for doing my conveyancing!

Generally Good
Sarah was always polite and friendly to deal with, and very quick to respond to emails and phone calls. However, there wasn't much in the way of routine updates. Also, if a particular issue had been sorted, I would have liked a quick message to say so - instead it all went quiet, feeling like a "no news is good news" style. This is in sharp contrast to the estate agent, who would be in touch immediately there was some news/update and would still check-in weekly even if there had been no progress. That said, key messages around exchanging contracts and completion came through very quick.
There were some glitches early on. I submitted a request for an online quote for a leasehold sale, which I got immediately, then a couple of days later Walker Foster sent another quote listing it as a freehold sale. The first letter I got was addressed wrongly, though it managed to reach me, and to be fair after I pointed it out, there was no repetition. The first buyer was also using Walker Foster - unfortunately, he pulled out but bizarrely, two weeks after acknowledging this, Sarah sent me the required "potential conflict of interest" letter, by which point the buyer was long gone and the property was back on the market! Things went more smoothly with the second buyer, though.
Walker Foster have a smart online portal to enter your details and fill in the required forms. Whilst convenient, it does seem like this is just a front end to a regular, manual process, so don't assume that information input will be copied over error-free.

Brilliant.
After the sudden unexpected death of my husband I needed help with sorting the house deeds out,Sarah and Keeley were excellent in helping me navigate this and whilst this was being done I decided to help my son buy his first house i of course directed him to Sarah and again she was brilliant. I cant thank them enough they made what is such a traumatic, difficult time for me just that little bit easier. I absolutely would not hesitate to return to Walker and Foster if needed.
