Generally Good
Sarah was always polite and friendly to deal with, and very quick to respond to emails and phone calls. However, there wasn't much in the way of routine updates. Also, if a particular issue had been sorted, I would have liked a quick message to say so - instead it all went quiet, feeling like a "no news is good news" style. This is in sharp contrast to the estate agent, who would be in touch immediately there was some news/update and would still check-in weekly even if there had been no progress. That said, key messages around exchanging contracts and completion came through very quick.
There were some glitches early on. I submitted a request for an online quote for a leasehold sale, which I got immediately, then a couple of days later Walker Foster sent another quote listing it as a freehold sale. The first letter I got was addressed wrongly, though it managed to reach me, and to be fair after I pointed it out, there was no repetition. The first buyer was also using Walker Foster - unfortunately, he pulled out but bizarrely, two weeks after acknowledging this, Sarah sent me the required "potential conflict of interest" letter, by which point the buyer was long gone and the property was back on the market! Things went more smoothly with the second buyer, though.
Walker Foster have a smart online portal to enter your details and fill in the required forms. Whilst convenient, it does seem like this is just a front end to a regular, manual process, so don't assume that information input will be copied over error-free.
