Having completed my LLB Hons degree in Law I joined Martin Tolhurst Solicitors as a Trainee Solicitor, before qualifying as a Solicitor in 1984. I was later offered Partnership and have now been a Partner at the firm for many years. My extensive understanding of the areas of law in which I specialise enables me to explain complex issues in a straightforward, clear way and I strive to make all clients feel at ease. I regularly see clients in their own homes if they have difficulty getting into the office and am happy to be flexible in this way. The fact that I specialise in multiple areas of law is a key advantage for many, as clients will often instruct me to do their conveyancing, as well as write their wills and prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney for them, which they find to be convenient.

selling property with a conveyance solicitor

I found the experience of selling a property very stressful as I had not done this before but I found Barbara Stewart and her team made the process very easy for me ,as they were always very helpful with any questions I had or anything i did not understand and always kept me informed by email as to the progress of the sale . They also explained legal terms I did not understand in great detail.

Used the Martin Tolhurst Team to deal with my Aunts Estate which involved selling a house, dealing with probate, registering the property with land registry and final distribution to beneficiaries. A number of issues arose which the team handled very professionally and always kept us well informed. Would not hesitate to use them again.
