Louise joined W&AS Bruce in July 2025 and works within our Family Law team, focusing on Legal Aid, children's rights and access to justice for vulnerable individuals. She began her legal career with a traineeship at a Children’s Law Centre in Edinburgh, funded by the Justice First Fellowship Scheme, and remained with the organisation following her qualification in 2022. Over the past five years, Louise has gained extensive experience advising and representing young people on a wide range of legal matters, including housing rights, care and contact issues and family law. She has also acted in judicial reviews, particularly where local authority decisions affecting looked-after children were challenged. In addition, Louise has worked with unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, supporting them through the asylum process and appeals, as well as in securing stable housing and care arrangements. Louise holds an LLM with Distinction in Human Rights and Criminal Justice and is certified in Child-Centered Practice. She currently sits on the Development Group for the Justice First Fellowship Scheme. She is passionate about using the law as a tool for social justice and is particularly interested in building strong working relationships with organisations supporting women and children.
