The process of conveyancing for this leasehold property was protracted, for a number of reasons, including an ambiguous lease, and a variety of economic factors. Our solicitor navigated and negotiated the process in our best interests to get the outcome we wanted. As a case study for selling a leasehold property, building insurance arrangements became a key obstacle for conveyancers. Citing section 164 of the Commonhold and leasehold Reform Act 2002 may have served to reassure conveyancers that the building insurance arrangements for this leasehold property where exactly what and how they are required to be.
