Shocking communication!!

This has to be the worst experience we have ever had after five house purchases!! This was a purchase for my sister, who I was responsible for communicating and any correspondance.

With this being the sixth purchase I have been involved with, I will say this was an absolutely horrensdous experience for both my sister and myself!!

It was difficult getting hold of our case handler Matthew, who always seemed to be on break or on the phone, especially when important documents were required even leading to the mortgage offer expiring!!

Going forward, we will stay well clear from Gorvins Residential and look for another reputable solicitor firm.

Thankfully we were able to finally complete the purchase after five months!! Constantly calling and emailing Gorvins, along with the vendor also getting their solicitor to chase Gorvins daily.

Fantastic experience!

I had a fantastic experience with Gorvins Residential LLP. My case handler, Sanabal Maqsood, was amazing!! She was very kind and helpful, worked quickly, and was constantly in touch with me with updates and advice, and today I pick up my keys. Thank you, Sanabal. I highly recommend

In my opinion this company has a lot to improve on.

I struggled to communicate with them and get answers and sometimes it was only partial answers. Sometimes they would promise an answer and not do so.

The worst thing that happened was when my partner made a comment about being unhappy and the case handler called my phone (which I passed to my partner). The tone and what I perceived as aggression towards us was totally unwarranted especially as all we were asking for (having asked multiple times) wss proof of what they were saying against our landlord. The case handler blamed the landlord and said I wouldnt be happy with the landlord solution to complete (they assumed amd didnt ask). I was upset by the way we were spoken to but worse was seeing how upset and distressed my partner was.

Our broker also contacted them and they ignored her.

My partner complaimed and I saw their response where they said "above and beyond" definitely not in my view!

Never again with them

A most upsetting experience

If I could give a 0 I would have done so.

To say that I am angry and disappointed with Gorvins would be an understatement. My landlord and myself did make mistakes but Gorvins didn't help the situation I feel

Sometimes I would message them and my handler didn't respond and when I initially raised this I received a response that I thought was very short and rude.

Eventually after much back and forth I raised I was not happy if what my landlord said was true and received a call from my handler where I was spoken to in what I believe was a highly inappropriate manner that left both me and my partner very upset.

I did make an offer to sort out the issue and later on in that phone call they said why they did not.

I made a complaint and they dismissed it and said my account handler went "above and beyond" which it's fair to say I highly disagree with. My landlord for their part acknowledged - and made means to rectify - the complaint and what I believed was their failings

I will never use this company again.

Unacceptable Client Service

I would strongly advise against using Gorvins Residential Conveyancers based on my ongoing experience. As client-based services go, this has been a shocking experience and frustrating slow from the very beginning.

I’m now 135 days into what should be a completely straightforward property purchase — no chain on either side, no disputes, no show-stoppers — and yet the process has dragged on due to their lack of urgency, communication, and basic competence.

Phone calls for updates are met with vague, responses like “your solicitor is in meetings” or “we’ll get back to you,” followed by radio silence. I’ve routinely spent over 15 minutes on hold, only to be forgotten entirely. Emails chasing updates have gone unanswered for days.

There’s been zero proactiveness. Enquiries have been handled without my knowledge or input, directly causing avoidable delays — delays I’ve only discovered after repeatedly pushing for information. What little communication I have received is drip-fed in fragments. The lack of attention to detail is staggering — I’ve even been sent documents, including property searches, for entirely different properties on several occasions.

As of today, I’ve had no full responses sent to me for the enquiries raised, no timeline for exchange and completion — just silence to my emails and unable to get to speak to anyone on the phone who can help me to move this on. For a routine sale of low complexity, this level of service is completely unacceptable.

If you're looking for a smooth, communicative, and professional conveyancing experience — avoid Gorvins at all costs.

Poor communication and cost us money

List of problems we had with them in bullet point form, boils down to poor communication and low drive to do their job. We were with the blue team. Only 1 star because I had to give them something to write the review.

- repeated handler change, all poor communicators
- initial documents and forms reset so we had to fill them all in again
- awful communication, line getting dropped, never getting through to case handler, not sure who picks up as direct line doesn't seem to be direct and then don't introduce themselves when answering, call gets bounced around with nobody seeming to have a clue what is going on
- no replies to email
- told that the case only gets worked on once a week
- progress only made when we call
- app only used for first week of process and then everything else was a challenge with their lack of communication
- having to chase other parties and companies ourselves when that is part of their job
- no urgency given that we were trying to sell before stamp duty rises
- key paperwork not being shared until we ask
- paperwork that should have been requested at start of process not sorted until we enquired
- document they claimed was holding us up had been given to them over a month before
- caused untold stress
- took time off work purely to chase them to try and get in before stamp duty increase
- all blue team went out of contact, kept saying the head of the team was on a phone call, one later said oh he's not in today and neither was our case handler so the rest were lying.
- they didn't send a document to the right place so all of this meant we missed the stamp duty deadline so we paid a lot more than we should have, same for the people we were buying from
- value for money incredibly low
- just lied about our handler being on the phone and that he would call us back later, when in fact they were off sick.
- told us that we had nothing left to do except get a date and took no initiative sorting that
- when I asked them progress on help to buy they said it was fine but then had done nothing because 'they assumed the previous handler had sorted it'
-only sent us the draft contract so rush at the end to give permissions for them to use our draft signatures for the real ones on exchange day
-charged us the wrong amount initially
- not replying to email chain between other solicitors and estate agents

Case handlers don't appear to know they are doing

I wouldn't give them 1 star but had to. They say they haven't had responses from the sellers solicitors, when I have seen proof they have, plus my case handler verbally told me she had a response, the days later said she hadn't, this made her appear dishonest, but when questioned further her response was borderline rude. She is always unavailable when I contact her, she doesn't respond to emails for days. I have tried to make a formal written complaint and they haven't even acknowledged or responded to that. shocking service for something I am paying thousands for.
