Fortunately I’ve had little to do professionally with solicitors over what is now several decades. When I have, in relation to property sales and purchases, and probate, I have not, alas, generally been overly impressed. Rarely involving legal issues of any real complexity, these matters do however require attention to detail. I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve had to point out mistakes, oversights, and so on in documents which, had they remained, could sometimes have had serious consequences.

All of which is by way of context for my delight at the way that my recent property sale was handled by this firm. No mistakes, or at least none that I spotted. Which, unfortunately, I cannot say about ‘the other side’s’ solicitor….

PDG Legal supported us with what became a very complicated purchase of a rural property, identifying and ensuring we were indemnified against an uncertain access point and dealing with an issue about whether the septic tank complied with the general binding rules. They chased our mortgage company and the seller's solicitors to make sure we could complete our purchase before the stamp duty waiver ended, saving us 5 figures.

My solicitor was very understanding and gave expert law knowledge when necessary. The case started in August of 2022 and there was 3 apperances via video link to court before the final court apperances on the 8th of Feb 2023. My solicitor Paul, knew the most likely outcome of each apperance prior to court, which were all accurate. He also made me aware of the other possibilities and the likelihood of them taking place. There were a lot of ongoing updates during the case and paul was on hand and available to take note and advice upon them. He shown compassion and understanding of the situation and whilst relaxed was always professional in manner and attitude towards the case. He was very understanding upon financial matters and communication is prompt and adequate. Due to the advice and its timely manner, I was kept aware and felt relaxed during the proceedings knowing the safety of my child was upon a legal aspect in excellent expert hands. The reason my first impressions is 4 stars is no fault of the service provided. It is because it was a very stressful and unsure time and I was unsure if what I was doing was for the best, or the outcome of my decision both long and short term and the implications this would have on my son. Thank you Paul for putting my mind at ease and all your help would definitely recommend to anyone in need of legal assistance.
