Jane and Jamie handled my late mums estate and house sale without any problems.Jane was very kind and thorough and reception staff were very helpful.

Jane acted on behalf of my parents and myself at one point. made a right mess of everything that then ended up costing the family over £50,000 to put right. It has taken 3 years to undo all the bad she has done in the form of wills, power of attorney and property. The second we moved solicitors she became rude and unprofessional. She left an elderly lady vulnerable and unable to receive the proper care she needed. If you want a solicitor who truly cares about their clients, don’t use this one. All the pomp and circumstance on the surface but underneath is a broken and un-ethical business.

My cousin died in 2019..I have not yet received probate in this length of time...I leave messages but never receive any information back..I personally will never use this company again.

Rude uncooperative loose paperwork and keys to properly. Never answer questions

Dreadful company. Never respond to you unless it’s rude. Updates are awful. Questions and queries unanswered they loose paperwork and then don’t let you no if they have found them or not.

Following the death of my Mother earlier this year, I had need of a good local solicitor to handle the probate of the estate and the eventual sale of her property. To just add to the complexity of the case my daughter who was one of the beneficiaries of my late parents Will was in the throes of buying her first home and needed a conveyancer who could work with the deposit coming from Probate AND able to handle a Help to Buy application.
My sister and I as executors had conversations with a number of local firms but the only one that gave any real confidence in ability to actually do the job efficiently was Pleass Thomson & Co.
From our initial conversation with Richard Dove, right through the process I can only give praise. We were kept informed of what was happening all the way down the line.
For a case as complex as this we were quoted some quite horrific figures by other firms, but whilst Pleass Thomson could not quote an exact figure for probate as obviously every case will be different, we felt certain that we would be treated fairly with costs kept to a reasonable level.
We were VERY pleasantly surprised on the final costing and even happier that everything Probate, Conveyancing of the sale of parents property and purchase of my daughters property were all carried out in a timely fashion.
Without any hesitation we will be recommending Pleass Thomson & Co to friends and family! A great local firm with a human touch!

Still no completion for me. Being held up by one document. This started in September, now into january. My daughter case should have no holdups also as one cash buyer only and no survey. No reason for delay. Very difficult to get hold of, as they do not communicate. Reporting to ombutsman. Unfortunately for me they are involved in two conveyances.

This solicitor has cost me over £10,00 in delay so far and I lost the house I had put a deposit on. There are only two chains involved, both of which are cash. My buyer was a cash buyer, which started September/October 2020. We are still waiting for completion which was scheduled for18/12/20. When pressed, they admitted they had only just started on the case. I am now in the USA with no home and having to rent at the most expensive time of the year, and my removals are due in on 8/1/21. They are also handling my daughters cash buyer’s case. no chain, and are still waiting. What a mess.
Please don’t use this company. By the time we eventually get to completion I will have lost over £15,00 which could have bought me a better house over here.

As explained, my mother drafted her will with Jane Pleass, not myself - so no, 'Sandy' is not the client! As explained, my mother did not need 'protecting' from her third party intervention,,. only from your misleading and ill-informed services.
As I clearly explained my mother wanted to show her only child her will to check that everything was in order.... that is not against the law nor is it coercing. The next solicitor we asked advice from were very clear that if money is left to a charity through a solicitor's office that they receive commission..... I find it very hard to believe that this is not the case with your office too?
It is extremely worrying to see that the only '5 star' review given to your company on this website is by yourselves! I'm surprised you are able to do that.
