If you are buying with another person, stress the importance of both parties consenting. Due to only one party being emailed consectively for 3 weeks, there was a 3 week delay (5 week delay if you include christmas).
Our deadline in the chain was the 20th December. There was no emphasis to meet this deadline. We completed on the 3rd February.
The planned completion date was the 31st January, however the banks crashed on completion day. Understandably this is out of the solicitors control, however the lack of compassion and duty of care was zero. We raised our concern that we would be homeless across the weekend at 2pm. We were informed that we could do a legal agreement to get the keys to the property and complete on the Monday, when the banks issues resolved.
At 15:45 our solicitor asked us where we would be staying if the legal agreement did not happen. We told her in a car with 2 cats, and we had concerns with where we would put our belongings from the removal vans, as they could not extend the van hire time. This was the last time we spoke with our solicitor.
We decided to speak with the estate agent. Luckily he took pity on us and gave us the keys because our sellers had vacated the property. Our sellers solicitor then ‘ told off’ the estate agent because no legal agreement was in place from our solicitor. Our sellers’ solicitor said that she was ‘disgusted at how we had been treated.’ She told the estate agent that she was unable to contact our solicitors because they had gone home.
On monday we receive an email to say that we had completed. No acknoweledgemet to our homeless situation, no explaination for why the legal agreement did not happen and no congratualations!
To say that we are disgusted with the lack of commitment,compassion and duty of care is an understatement.
The firm was reccomended to us. Make sure you choose your solicitors wisely within this firm.

If I could give 0 stars I would. They are USELESS at conveyancing and we had to continually double and triple check every detail sent and correct them. Not ideal when you are paying a lot of money for their "expert" services. Then over 3 years later, get contacted out the blue saying we owe them almost £400 for a miscalculation on their part that they have only just identified. Doesn't give you confidence that the legal necessities were taken care of, does it! Then they threaten you with a CCJ and legal action if you don't pay the shortfall within 2 weeks. Avoid at all costs! Obviously we have contacted the Legal Ombudsman.

Incredible team and efficient, my issues with a settlement agreement were nipped in under a week.

I used this solicitor for a house dispute, after over two yrs and a bill for over £30.000 Im no better off, I'm now using another solicitor they have told me it should never of got to this point financially and the time it's taken, it should of basically gone straight to court, and I would be over £15000 better off and the matter would of been finalised by now. They have also charged me for work that has never been carried out!
Probably great for a house purchase but not for a legal battle!! Do not use unless you have money to burn unfortunately I haven't

Used this firm in 2021 to do the conveyancing on the purchase of a new home and sale of our then home. I have just learnt 1 year and 6 months later that only last week on the 9th of December 2022 that they sent all the paperwork to the land registry. They said they were waiting for the sellers solicitors to send some paperwork needed. They should of been chasing this up for the past year and a half, but to be quite Frank the whole experience with them was very stressful as they had to be chased about everything. The fee they received was supposed to reflect the service that was delivered, and take the stress and anxiety that goes with buying and selling a property away by them being on top of everything, but the amount of stress caused by the slack and non urgency of work delivered has been the worse we have ever received by buying and selling a home.
