Could have been better

I sent files at the start that were then requested by the buyers solicitors so had to send again. I believe the whole process could have been quicker. Communication was often difficult.

I used these solicitors even though they were a long distance from me as recommended by other companies. Thank you for all your help in purchasing my first home.

I used Adkirk, recommended my mortgage provider, Halifax.
I found the communication to be poor throughout my purchase and transfer. It was weeks on end before I actually
Got to speak with anybody on the telephone. I spoke to the bank on a few separate occasions to request a change in firm due to lack of contact. My solicitor would then send me multiple emails at 5 and 6am in the morning. I wouldn't recommend or use again.

Adkirk Law dealt with the sale of our property in London and the purchase in Preston. Linda and her team did a great job. Linda kept us inform along the way and was always there for support. Linda provided support when things got stressful and directly after the sale.
We have recommended Adkirk Law to friends who are just completing a similar move from London.

For the cost I would definitely avoid using Adkirk for helping you sell or purchasing a property. Their lack of communication was appalling and left me without any updates for weeks at a time and required me to chase repeatedly for an update.
My first property fell through due to some legislation that made it difficult to secure a reasonable mortgage and took 8 months. The second property I had to buy third party info myself instead of just informing me of an additional cost to remove me as an unnecessary middle man. Even after my apartment sale has gone through I am now getting radio silence from them after they have taken a not insignificant sum of money from me to pay some initial third party fees that they still haven't paid 3 weeks later causing this third party to chase me for them instead.

Had our conveyancing file passed over to Adkirk Law over 4 months ago; that’s 18 weeks.
What has happened since then?
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.

Not a call, not a single email response, not even a courtesy message acknowledging my case has even been looked at.

If you value professionalism, responsiveness, or even the most basic level of customer service, I suggest you go elsewhere.
This has been an embarrassing display of incompetence and disregard.

Could not have asked for more from the team at Adkirk. From start to finish they handled both our sale and purchase with professionalism and kept us up to date where necessary. Our solicitor, Anna Sparrow, was quick to respond to any emails and extremely helpful and informative. Highly recommend for anyone who wants a personable professional conveyancer.

About this branch

Description

Rachel and Linda met in 2010 when working at Stephensons Solicitors. They recognised in each other an integrity and work ethic that ultimately led them to making this big decision to open their own Law Firm together. They both believe that clients deserve the best possible service from their solicitors at all times and that can be no excuse for poor service. Their reputation in their respective fields is a tribute to this. They are both honest, hardworking lawyers with a flair for clear thinking.
