In good hands

We had an immensely turbulent & stressful journey selling our flat & buying our house. It took 2.5 years, 2 buyers pulling out (one extremely last-minute & after school places were secured) then with the third and final buyer, we had a very tight deadline to meet (thanks to 'Buyer 2' and their last minute withdrawal). It was terribly stressful but Mike at J&P pulled out all the stops so thankfully we met the deadline successfully and are now moved and settled. We felt totally supported and listened to by Mike along the way, but also his amazing legal assistant Chris went above and beyond for us.

Incredible service - makes buying a house as painless as possible

We are so grateful to Kavitha and her team! They worked around the clock to help us meet our completion deadline, always with outstanding commitment and professionalism. The purchase was not without it's complications and without them we are aware that we would probably have missed our deadline and the whole process would have a been a lot more stressful. Thank you to the whole team!

Excellent solicitor for sale & purchase

James Ray was our solicitor for the sale of our house and our onward purchase. He has been exceptional from start to finish! I’d highly recommend Judge & Priestley Sidcup. James has been very helpful in explaining all of the law jargon and keeping us up to date at every step, he’s very good at answering the phone and will always call you back extremely quickly if he’s not available. James would reply to my numerous emails within 24hrs which was very much appreciated! It’s hard to find such a good solicitor who has great communication and doesn’t take weeks to reply! He was excellent at chasing up both our sale and purchase. Even on the odd occasion when James was out of office there were other employees such as Brooke Stevens who would update you and call the onward solicitors to get an update - everyone at the office has been very friendly and easy to deal with! There was an enquiry on our onward purchase that was more complicated than we had hoped but James was great at chasing up information and pushing back on the solicitors to ensure we got the best legal outcome and weren’t just palmed off. Thank you very much, we will definitely be using your firm in the future and really appreciate your patience and excellent communication (hopefully we won’t be moving house anytime soon!)

Conveyancing services

We were supported in the acquisition of a residential property by Kavitha Rajah an her team and have no hesitation in recommending them based on the excellent service we had throughout the whole process . Our purchase of a new home was completed on time and exceeded our expectations for support and input. Kavitha and her team were timely, efficient, accurate and helpful in all communications. They proactively provided us with guidance and council in the process and acted upon our surveyors report to ask for clarifications and seek more information as needed. We found the whole buying process was much more manageable due to their support and partnership.

The very good, the not so good and the downright disappointing

Kavitha Rajah and her conveyancing team did a sterling job at conveyancing both the property we were selling and the property I eventually moved into.

They were very polite, extremely professional and always quick to respond.

During what was sometimes a stressful process, they were generally helpful in explaining where things were at and able to offer appropriate support in regard any issues or concerns that arose.

I would highly recommend them.

For the record, our family also used Judge and Priestley for the process of probate after our mother died and that experience (which in the context of bad advice that was given to me by the designated member of staff initially dealing with the process, who mysteriously disappeared before completion, and which ultimately lost me a considerable amount of money) brings up one simple word in big, bold capital letters - AVOID!!!)

I would like to make it clear that all of my input in the additional areas of this review in the context of information requested are in direct response to my experience with Kavitha Rajah and her conveyancing team and are not in any way related to the very stressful, difficult, drawn out and downright disappointing experience I had with Judge and Priestley’s probate solicitors.

I have given Judge and Priestley an overall score of 4 stars, but in all honesty, it’s 5 stars for Kavitha Rajah and her team and 1 for the probate solicitors.

Exceptional service

My property had been under offer twice before with buyers pulling out at the last minute. The solicitors i had previously used just didn't deal with enquiries quickly enough and when they did they didn't seem to have the legal experience to resolve issues. With my third buyer i changed to Kavitha and her team at Judge & Priestly who were world's apart in term of professionalism, efficiency and their legal expertise. Issues came up which i was not even aware of as Kavitha dealt with them quickly without bothering me. I can not thank Kavitha and her team enough for making the whole process stress free and seamless, always going the extra mile to get things through. No other solicitors compare.
