I wanted to put 4.5 stars, but there is no option so I put 5 as this felt more appropriate than 4 stars.
I instructed Nicholsons to help me with a house purchase. I am pleased to say I am making this review from my new house :)
I was a first time buyer.
Communication was generally very good. I would note that I raised a more urgent query at 8pm at one point. To my surprise I received a response in less than an hour advising that they would pick it up in the morning.
My only real gripe was some additional anti-money laundering checks happened fairly late on in the process which I feel delayed the purchase by maybe a week or two. There was also a little confusion as to exactly what was requested for said checks. I have no objection to the checks themselves, just feel that they could have been completed earlier on in the process.
There were a couple of minor paperwork issues but these were quickly and easily rectified.
Any paperwork they required me to send back by post they provided me with return envelopes which was a nice touch.
Overall a very good experience, and would recommend using their services for purchasing a house.
