I guess like most people you only need a solicitor in times of potential trouble, and whilst mine was employment law related, the team at Spencer Shaw were exceptional in meeting my needs and extreme timelines for completing documents. I cannot recommend the team there enough.

I spoke with Ian about my case initially and felt I had to keep repeating myself as he seemed to have âforgottenâ information I had relayed prior. He also cut me off on many occasions which became frustrating as I was explaining crucial information. I did not feel like he was on my side acting in my best interests. Despite charging me his extortionate hourly rate I felt he was delaying things to extort further money from me and expressed a few times that he was ânot an advisory serviceâ. My confusion arises as are all solicitors within their field of practice not advisors?!

We are surprised to hear that you were dissatisfied, as you didn't raise any concerns or complaints with us during your matter or afterwards, either formally or informally. These are very strong allegations to make, which we believe are false and misrepresentative. We always represent our clients best interests, which sometimes means guiding the conversation to stay on topic and in budget. As a business we do charge for the work we do, but we have a bank of reliable, free charitable and government-run advisory services that we recommend to people looking for free advice. Given the strength of these allegations, we would expect that you would want us to hear and address your concerns. However, we have tried to contact you by phone and email but not had a response. Without using our proper complaints procedure, it is difficult to see how you would like us to resolve this.

Waste of time. Called me at a time Iâd specifically told them I wasnât available, then were dismissive, patronising and unhelpful. Asked me what I wanted out of the call - legal advice, obviously? But instead I was told to go away, gather more information (but no directions as to what information they specifically needed me to gather) and to call back once Iâd done that. No, I will be calling a different solicitors instead, one who actually acts like they want my business.

I had a concern about a employment contract I am presented with taking that is very different to how my working pattern is and therefore looks like it doesn't fit, it is a very confusing situation for me so I requested the professional advice of SSS Ltd.
After an initial discussion there was an issue which the Principle Solicitor understood and handled effectively and efficiently.
I was then given the time and attention to fully express my concerns and these were taken piece by piece so that I was clear on the issues relevant to my situation.
