My ex stopped me seeing my son after 2 years because we split up and I was hearing reports back even from her mother that he wasn't being fed properly. She said she had made loads of frozen food but my ex had so many people around she fed them all but only gave my son a packet of biscuits at 2 years old and made to stay in his pram. I rang social services and my ex then rang me after they had visited. 'Now you have called them you'll never see him' She stopped me seeing him and lied to the courts and Cafcass and they believed her. So I went to this firm after she had been attacked by drug dealers she owed money to. A magistrate hunted me down and told me I need to go to court as my son was being taken to court. Cut a long story short i'm telling a solicitor of this firm the story that i hadn't seen my son for 15 years. She said well my daughter sings a song 'Let it go, let it go' think it's from frozen. I held my tongue but thought how wrong is this woman? Would she have let it go if her daughter was taken away from her and she couldn't see her. Why would anybody actually say that. Very wrong and I any faith in this company. Useless.

I have recently been represented by Aneka Shoukat during a lengthy and stressful case, Aneka went above and beyond for me, kept me up to date with everything and always made sure I understood everything what was happening and what would happen next.

I've instructed this firm to put a non molestation order in for me, only to make a right mess of it, stumbling his words, had no evidence to hand, truly unprofessional and lost me my case. Very dissapointed

From start to finish I felt that Makin Dixon really cared about my case. They did everything they could to keep me updated with what was happening, and were efficient and organised. They 'bent over backwards' to make the whole court journey as painless as possible and really showed I was important to them. Although I did not get the outcome that I wanted Makin Dixon did everything they could against an antiquated court system. Aneka and Jane were amazing!!

I’ve used Makin and Dixon on a number of occasions over the years for a children matter , I find them reliable and professional and trustworthy, my solicitor was Aneka Shoukat she’s a credit to the company, I’ve suffered with domestic abuse and I had no confidence when I first met with her but now she’s given me the strength and confidence back, she’s helpful caring and she understands you without no judgement she’s not just a solicitor but she was more like a friend, she’s helped me get the justice I deserved. Going to court to keep an existing court order in place in my experience is a daunting and anxious time. Aneka Shoukat from Makin and Dixon solicitors made this a whole lot easier with her professionalism, knowledge and reassurance. She represented me at court and was nothing short of amazing. We got the right and fair outcome with no tangible change to the existing court order in terms of live with and actual quality time I spend with my daughter.
