Good communication

We used Bright Solicitors to sell my sisters flat which was made more difficult due to all the maintenance and management companies involved with it. Victoria and Kornelia persevered and managed to work through it all thank goodness. I completed on a flat purchase in June 25 and was in contact with Karen and Alex throughout, they kept me updated with all the issues and answered all of my questions due to my inexperience in these matters. Any problems they came across they were tenacious, knowledgeable and professional and dealt with them swiftly, and I honestly believe without their integrity and pushing for information, the sale would still be ongoing now. I don't have much experience buying property, but this experience has taken the fear out of the whole process and will definitely be using Brights again. From market to completion in 14 weeks. Would have been even quicker were it not for circumstances outside Bright’s control.
Friendly and professional. Kept us up to date with our house sale. Speedy replies to any queries we had, making the process easier to understand. Best of all: calling us from time to time to make sure we were ‘okay’. Haven’t had this level of personable and thoughtful care when buying and selling before.

Dreadful Communication

I used Bright for the purchase of my new build property in Cornwall.

The solicitor that was assigned to me simply did not deliver an acceptable level of service.

Requests for them to return my call never happend. In fact, I don't recall speaking to them once over the phone (including on the day of completion!). I even spoke to the firm and requested to speak to a manager, which still didn't prompt a better level of service from my own solicitor.

Responses to my emails also took a long time on some occasions.

Insult to injury: My first enquiry to Bright to request their conveyancing services, was on 02 February 2025.
They had 87 days before the new stamp duty changes took effect.
I requested a target completion date of April 30th - they failed miserably, resulting in a further month before we could complete due to the extra charges.

If this particular solicitor had too much on their plate, I would have much rather they were honest and told me when I enquired, that they had no capacity for my business.

I would absolutely not recommend this firm.

Amazing service from Bright Solicitors, very friendly and a pleasure to work with. Nothing was too much trouble and everything was explained in good old "plain english" without all the usual legal jargon. We sold 2 properties with them and both went very smoothly. The initial site visit (suggested by them) did help all parties understand the new boundaries and layouts, without this visit I'm sure things would have got quite complicated and expensive for us.
