Leaving retrospective feedback for this firm, their services used during 2022.
After engaging FAB for a Wills and Probate service, based on their local reputation and word of mouth, it didn't take long to become concerned with the lack of regular communication from FAB regarding our case. The lady initially dealing with our case left for another firm and we were assigned Andrew Steel.
From the outset, there was mistake after mistake with legal documentation that was presented to us for signatures - spelling mistakes, incorrect names, incorrect address information...basically errors that supposedly highly educated people should not send to clients and expect payment for their shoddy service. These are LEGAL documents - there should be no errors whatsoever!
Communication - there was practically no communication unless we called and asked for a progress update. We had agreed that we would be updated every Friday even if there were no changes; this did not happen.
Professionalism - in our opinion (and we aren't the first here), Andrew Steel was obstructive, rude, arrogant and dismissive. He also provided information that wasn't factually correct regarding financial gifts from a will. Thankfully we ignored that information which, for that aspect, led to a satisfactory resolution (yet hindered by Steel).
Arrogance - the arrogance demonstrated by this person was astonishing. With Andrew Steel, it was either "my way, or no way". Again, thankfully we chose not to accept some of his poorly judged suggestions which led to a smoother (and cheaper) legal process.
If I had 4 words in which to describe this solicitor's character...? Lazy, rude, obstructive and arrogant.
