From the moment I met Susanne White I knew I was in very safe & sensitive hands. Having to make a will is a traumatic experience. You are reminded in doing it of how tenuous our hold on life is & the inevitability of that life ending. So, having someone like Susanne to help navigate this process with you is truly a gift. She took the time to listen to me, to support me, & to guide me in making my decisions. She came to my home on two visits, explained everything to me & by her time of leaving I felt so secure in what I had done. A weight had been lifted from my shoulders. Her follow up on my arrangement has been equally helpful. Her letters of explanation regarding power of attorney etc have now enabled me to move forward without fear of what the future may hold for me. I deem myself very lucky to have Susanne come into my life when I needed guidance most. I cannot recommend her services to highly. She is a credit to her profession. Setfords Law was recommended by my financial advisor. I was in need of a number of letters verifying that monies from my Mother's estate was a legitimate payment to some of her grandchildren and sons, all of whom live abroad. This was incase they were challenged by their revenue service.
Sophie Booker, was polite, helpful and supplied and explained useful advice to this end. Over a matter of a few months, as needed, she supplied draft letters for approval, all of which were well worded and to the point. On approval, she supplied the final version copies both in hard copy and electronically. Sophie supplied a professional and pain-free service. I would definitely recommend her services and that of her firm.

We engaged Setfords for the purchase of a new property and later the sale of another property. Initially communication was quick and polite however once the Letter of Engagement was signed, communication was non-existent unless we actively followed up. I can't recall a time when I rang and did not get redirected to voicemail.
When the final documentation for the purchase did come through, there were several errors across the documents. We went back and forth 3 times on the same document pointing them out; their justification was "the system is tricky to navigate." In the end we were asked to make the corrections in black ink and return to them.
During the sale of our property, abortive fees were added onto the final bill. We queried what these were and were happy to pay them following some clarification however the response we received was quite rude and patronising. A breakdown in the Letter of Engagement would be helpful so everyone is aware of the breakdown.
Finally, upon completion, we were told the application of registration could take 6-12 months. As we approached the 11 month mark (following completion) we followed up (twice) via email to finally hear that the application for registration was completed and posted some 5 months back (which we never received). The solicitor did not seem concerned about the missing paperwork.
In short, I would not recommended Setfords to anyone seeking a solicitor.
