The toxic failures of Karen Barham
This review is for a different branch.
We engaged Karen to conduct mediation as part of a divorce process. In total we paid around £6,000. Overall, the process with Karen was a complete failure.
1 - We paid in advance for many hours of time but little to nothing was achieved in the time spent. Karen thought it was a good idea to spend time bickering over small unimportant topics such as the amount of time permissible to book holidays.
2 - when suggestions were made by the client to progress pertinent matters more efficiently Karen made intentional statements to block these suggestions and progress being made.
3 - when concerns were raised with Karen by us as the client on the lack of progress and large amounts of time and cost incurred for no benefit, Karen ignored this feedback and made manipulative statements to belittle the feedback and suggest more money should be paid.
4 - on a call with Karen and Victoria (a partner of the firm) to discuss the complaint re service and conduct, both individuals were rude, argumentative and disrespectful to the client. At no point was the complaint taken seriously or any points raised addressed.
5 - Karen has clearly gone into hiding, refused to provide provide basic information that’s been reasonably requested as part of the complaints process.
The biggest concern is that when the complaint was raised with the complaints team and and the complaints manager (Joanna Farrands) attempts were made to sweep the matter under the carpet rather than address any of the concerns raised and the complaints team breached gdpr and data privacy rules and sent me correspondence relating to another clients complaint.
Overall, Karen demonstrated a complete lack of integrity and failed to act in her clients best interest and the complaints team and Joanna Farrands appear to lack competence in investigating the concerns raised.
