From day 1 the service was frustrating as the portal did not work as required, with the only section I could complete was the one where I gave Butterworths money (even this took 4 attempts as it wouldn't accept payment from my main account, which works fine for everything and is with a major bank).
I had to suggest a workaround as the call for support with the portal was from someone who told me they didn't know how to resolve the issue, with a follow up call finally finding resolution (I had to sign everything 4 times to push it through the system despite being a sole seller of a property).
I was asked to provide documents I had already sent, challenged this and had to complete a full section again, including prompting the Butterworths rep to re-open the section on the portal.
My house sale took 3 months to complete and I was providing suggestions/steer to push completion and didn't feel like Butterworths were considering these kind of steps. It felt like I was leading them rather than them leading me, which is not what I would expect for a paid specialist service.
All in all, a frustrating service and whilst staff were pleasant, I would recommend people seek alternative solicitors.
