Tim was the epitome of efficient

Special thanks to Tim Hare for being so so efficient when handling our sale. Not only was it month end, it was the end of the financial year AND the last day before stamp duty increases. Tim was on it from the outset and even worked the Sunday before to ensure everything completed as hoped and planned. If everyone had Tim’s work ethic and conscience, transactions such as this would be so much smoother. Thanks Tim!

unfortunately the worst thing that happened to me when buying a house

I contacted this law firm for help in buying a house, I was assigned this lawyer, you held my case for a month, then without notifying me, he wrote that he would not handle the purchase of the house because my English is too poor, I still have not received a refund of the money I paid on December 11, stay away

Proactive and Responsive

Tim and Leigh were great working as my sell-side solicitors. It was not easy process but the proactiveness and responsiveness of the service was great especially when dealing with difficult buy-side solicitors. Also, rather refreshingly, Tim would ring me as required, which made life easier and helped the service rather than just communicating exclusively through emails.

Would certainly recommend Tim and Leigh.

Very frustrating experience

Tim Hare worked to try to salvage a very poor experience from the company. I needed conveyancing for a very simple sale of a flat to the owner of the building and was initially assigned Mark Thompson. I filled out the initial paperwork on their portal, even as far as providing details about the building that Mark insisted were needed for the buyer even though the buyer was the building owner. Several of the bits of information were then requested again even after being provided, Mark saying he could not see my responses even though they were ticked as complete. Throughout I made it clear that the buyer did not care as he was already aware of the state of the building as he owned it! The portal "progress meter" never worked once, was a completely pointless, and getting any kind of indication of progress was like pulling teeth. At one point I emailed Mark to get an auto reply saying he was on holiday, and told to contact another person who turned out was ALSO on holiday. I tried to phone at a different point and got no answer from the several numbers I was provided. For some reason (after trying to get some kind of movement for a considerable time) my case was moved to Tim, who was a lot more proactive, easy to contact and tried to get things resolved, ultimately getting the sale through.

I would highly recommend Luke Underhill and Alta Girardi to manage the purchase and sale of your property. They are both professional, efficient and excellent in their field. I was always able to speak to either of them on the phone with any questions or queries. If on the very rare occasion they missed my call, they did promptly call me back. They kept me fully updated with the progress of my sale and purchase which made this a stress free process for me. I can't recommend them highly enough, they were brilliant!

We've just use Holden Smith Law for both the sale and purchase of properties and the experience was outstanding from start to finish! Nicola was so honest, helpful and always available. She was so approachable and we never doubted if we were in safe hands! Callum, Kirsty & Eleanor were all so brilliant too. We had a very complicated case and were told to go with a firm local to us but we stuck with Holden Smith and they were the only ones through the entire process who were amazing! Thanks so much guys. If you're on the fence about using them, go for it. I would highly recommend!

Sadly, I did not have the best experience with this firm. The solicitor submitted a report with unfinished sentences and failed to highlight missing service charge payments with no agreed retention. I constantly had to proof read everything and ask for things that should have been handled prior to even producing the report, which felt I was doing her job and causing unnecessary delays. Unfortunately, it was too late in the purchasing process to switch solicitors but I ended up outsourcing advice from elsewhere to have any confidence in the deal. I did manage to close the deal but do not recommend at all. Very painful process.
